4 -4.5 Steamy Hot Star Review 'Fight With Me' by Kristen Proby

Fight With Me (With Me In Seattle)

Book Description, Amazon.com

Jules Montgomery is too busy and content with her life to worry about a man, especially one Nate McKenna. If growing up with four brothers has taught her anything, she knows to stay away from sexy men with tattoos and motorcycles. That goes double if he's your boss. During the one incredible night they shared, he violated the no fraternization policy...among other things, and it won't happen again. Jules won't risk her career for mind-blowing sex, no matter how much her body and her damn heart keep arguing with her.

Nate McKenna could give a shit about the no fraternizing policy. He wants Jules and he'll have her. The rules could bend around them, or be damned. He's not a man to be taken lightly, and Jules Montgomery is about to find out just how he responds to being pushed aside after the best night of sex he's ever had. She can fight all she wants, but he'll have her in his bed in the end.

FIGHT WITH ME is the second novel in the With Me In Seattle Series.

My Review
~I haven't read 'Come Away With Me' book one in the With Me in Seattle Series, so I truly went into this book blind. Reading book one first would have most definitely gave me more insight and understanding to some of the characters and their relationships with each other, but the author provided enough information that you figure it out.
The book starts off with a bang, no pun intended...
The prologue introduces us to Julianne Montgomery and Nate McKenna, co-workers, in fact he is her boss...having a summer rendezvous. Julianne freaks out afterwards because the company they work for has a no fraternizing policy. She knows they both would be fired if anyone found out. She waits until Nate is asleep and slips off in the middle of the night.

Julianne manages to steer clear of Nate for 8 months at work and otherwise, that is until she receives and email from him asking her to work late. Despite her efforts she is unable to keep herself from not being attracted to and wanting to be with Nate. She finds herself thinking back to their one night of lust 8 months earlier. She is no longer able to resist the incredibly hot, sexy, and beautiful man in front of her. Nate propositioned her and she could not refuse him. He convinces her to stop thinking about what anyone else will say or do and allow herself to follow her hearts desires and be with him.

Their relationship escalates quickly. There is no denying they had an incredibly intense attraction to each other from the get go. The question for me was: Is there more to it than sexual desire?

50% of the way through the book I found myself asking:
Is there such a thing as too many sex scenes?
Because if that is possible this book is boarding that line closely.

Personally, a story has to be more than great sex to grab my attention. There has to be that element of immense need and love...mind, body, and soul. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes are amazing, but I need the love story; that's what moves me. What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Lust is certainly front and center, but underneath that their is much more to their attraction. They have a deeper need for each other, which became more and more evident as the story progressed and is particularly evident in scenes like this where Julianne says:
"He pulls me into him, wrapping his arms around me and pressing my head to his chest, and I feel so loved. This is not sexual at all, I feel cherised."
At 80% the story went from good to great. I began to fall in love with them and their story. Their relationship began to blossom and gain more depth. They were faced with an ordeal that proved to be a testament to their love. Sacrifices were made and I was a pleased reader.

The epilogue was fantastic, my favorite part of the book! Nate Mckenna is an unbelievably sexy, sweet, kind, respectful/respectable, successful, swoon-worthy specimen of a man.

He had me with this quote:
"I love you, Julianne. I've loved you for a long time. You and I are a team, in every way. You amaze me with your strength, with your kindness, and the love you show everyone around you, including me."

...sigh <3 I mean what woman doesn't want a man who feels that way about her and can actually express those feeling.
