Review: The Proposition by Katie Ashley

The Proposition
By: Katie Ashley

The Proposition and The Proposal had been sitting on my TBR listfor a while. After hearing other book lovers rave about how good they are and several people suggesting the books to me. I decided it was time to bump those babies up to the top of the list, which turned out to be a wise decision.

My Review of The Proposition:
(5 Amazingly Good Stars)

Beautiful Emma Harrison (Amy Adams)
Emma Harrison is an intelligent, kind, loving and beautiful woman. Everyone seems to love Emma; I love Emma because she's tender and loving, but she's also strong willed and determined. She very much embodies the wholesome, good girl persona. She's a natural beauty inside and out.

She knows what she wants; she knows what she deserves and she doesn't plan on taking anything less.

In the past four years she's suffered tremendous loss. Two of the most important people in her life passed away. After experiencing extreme heartache, she is desperate to move forward with her life and have a child of her own.

Her best friend since middle school, Conner Montgomery agrees to be her sperm donor, but ends up backing out. His partner is not ready for children and doesn't want Conner fathering her child.

Emma is single and has had nothing but bad luck with dating. She doesn't want to use a sperm bank; she'd rather know the man personally.
Gorgeous Adian Fitzgerald (Jensen Ackles)
Aidan Fitzgerald is the vice president of marketing at the company Emma works for. Aidan has a reputation among the women in their workplace as a womanizing, man whore. Emma's other best friend and colleague Casey forewarns her to stay away from him, but Aidan doesn't get that memo and even if he did, I don't think he'd listen to it.

Turns out, Aidan can give Emma exactly what she desperately desires and Emma can do the same for him.

When Aidan gets his chance, he propositions her with just the plan that will benefit each of them equally. Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but eventually agrees convincing herself that she will be able to separate sex and heart.

Emma is completely different from all the other women Aidan's dated, in a good way. He wants her and that want quickly turns to need, which scares the hell out of him. The chemistry between them is undeniable and they both know it.

Adian is good looking and full of himself; he is shamelessly arrogant. He possesses many of the non-husband material characteristics that Emma detest, but the more time she spends with him, the more she realizes he is not exactly what his reputation claims he is...Sex and heart being to mesh.

This book starts off fast, there is no hem hawing around, which I love and appreciate so so much! There is just the right amount of back story in the first two chapters that the story easily flows right into the situation at hand, Emma's desire to be a mother. We learn more of Aidan's back story in The Proposal, which explains a lot about his behaviors and actions.

I loved everything about this book, the story line, the characters, and how Emma and Aidan have this hilarious back and forth dialogue between them. They really are a cute/hot/sexy couple that we want together.

I was a happy reader right up until the last few chapters when all hell broke loose, which left me furious at Aidan Fitzgerald...
This quote directed at Aidan, sums it up:
"Aidan you're a F*cking Bastard!"

Adian wallowing in his self-inflicted misery :(

Emma at the end of The Proposition :(

A Few of My Favorite Quotes:

"Have you ever wanted something so bad you think you'd die if you didn't have it? That the mere thought of it keeps you up at night. You can't sleep, you can't eat, you can't drink. You are so consumed by that desire nothing else matters, and you're not sure life is worth living if you can't have it." ~Emma

"You're like a paradox to me. One minute you're like this fragile flower and the next you;re tough as unflinching steel." ~Aidan

"You make me feel too much...I'm just supposed to use you for sex like you use me." ~Emma

To sum it up, The Proposition is FANTASTIC
Definitely a MUST READ!
Be forewarned you will immediately want/need to start
